Organizers of the Community Media Convergence at Carleton University on November 22 -24 have announced the launch of Canada's first community multimedia festival, celebrating community media in the digital environment.
If face-to-face interaction with other community media practitioners is your preferred way to give feedback, we have arranged for focus groups across Canada to discuss community media at this crucial digital cross-roads. The dates and cities are as follows:
Victoria: Sept. 10, 2015
Vancouver: Sept. 14, 2015
Calgary: Sept. 9, 2015
Toronto: Sept. 9, 2015 (tentative)
Thank you to all who have filled out the Community Media Policy survey (over 300 and counting)! It is the first time in Canada a survey of this magnitude regarding community media has been undertaken. It will make a big difference to our credibility as a sector to be able to report on our needs with such depth and accuracy.
Take the survey; join a group to talk about community media!
For the first time in Canada, community media practitioners will converge in one place to discuss the changing landscape of community media in this country.
Over three days from November 22 – 24 at Carleton University, practitioners from community television, radio, online and gaming platforms will join with academics and policy makers to discuss and develop new strategies for community media in the digital environment.
